Most event organisers rely on badge scanning, RFID taps, or manual check-ins to track session attendance. These methods create friction for attendees, require onsite staff, and often produce incomplete data - particularly for sessions where delegates drift in and out.
Crowd Connected’s attendee tracking solution works differently. Small, battery-powered Bluetooth beacons installed throughout your venue detect wearable tags (attached to lanyards or badges) and report accurate attendance and dwell time data in real time. There’s nothing for delegates to scan, tap, or do. They simply attend the event as normal.
The result: complete session-level attendance data covering who was in which session, when they arrived, how long they stayed, and where they went next. All available in the Crowd Connected platform during the event, with CSV exports for post-event reporting and sponsor fulfilment.

How does attendee tracking work without RFID or badge scanning?
Each attendee wears a small Bluetooth tag (typically clipped to their lanyard). Battery-powered mesh beacons installed around the venue pick up signals from these tags and triangulate each attendee’s position. The data flows to the Crowd Connected platform in real time - no scanning stations, no staffing, no queues.
What is the most accurate way to track event attendance?
Passive Bluetooth tracking is more accurate than badge scanning because it captures continuous presence data, not just a single scan at entry. You get dwell time (how long someone actually stayed), not just whether they walked through the door. Accuracy is typically within a few metres - more than enough to distinguish between adjacent sessions.
How quickly can the system be installed?
A typical installation covering 25,000 m² takes around four hours. The beacons are battery-powered with included self-adhesive, so there’s no cabling or venue infrastructure required. You need only a single gateway (one power socket and one ethernet connection) per floor.
